Grand Canyon News October 2018: Hot mic moment underscores Tusayan, Stilo development frustration

Questions arose Oct. 12 after the Grand Canyon Watchdog, an online news blog covering Tusayan’s Town Council, released leaked audio between council members and a representative of the Stilo USA development group. The recordings can be found here. At their worst, the recordings appeared to suggest the town’s elected officials and Stilo were breaking open meeting laws, disparaging a forest service supervisor and keeping certain information out of the public purview. At their best, the recordings publicly aired deep-seated town grievances, punctuated with what Stilo calls a “poor attempt at humor.”
